We had a wonderful  and very successful Legislative Initiative this year. We had a small, but dedicated team. We passed out our legislative asks to the offices of every member of Congress (537 in all) and met with health staffers from many of our senators and representatives. In addition, we had great meetings with members of the Administration for Community Living, HHS Office of Civil Rights, Senate Committee on Aging and Disabilities, Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy, and staffers from each party in the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.

We are forever grateful for those VOR members who participated in the initiative, and would like to single out our legislative policy advisor, Gayle Gerdes of Health Policy Source, for her wisdom and guidance in this initiative and to all our efforts in the last few years.
